Messaging
Requests to Message
Someone you don't follow may initiate a chat with you. They will be permitted to send a single message in the form of a chat invitation, after which they will not be able to send any additional messages.
When you receive such a request, you can take the following actions:
- You can ignore the request completely and not take any action. This will simply mark the request as read. The initiator of the request will not know that you have seen the request.
- You can accept the request. If you do this, a normal chat group will be created, and you and the initiator can exchange messages. The initiator will receive a message indicating that you are ready to chat.
- You can delete the request. This is similar to ignoring the request, except that the request is irretrievably deleted. The initiator of the request will not know that you have deleted the request.
- You can block the initator of the request. If you do this, the request will be deleted, and Lanterns.app will behave just as when you block a user. The initiator of the request will not be sent any notification that you blocked them.
