Sending Messages

When viewing a public Lantern, or a public List, use the share icon and select "Share as Chat Message". Use this button to send the Lantern or List to someone else using Lanterns.app.

Types of messages you can send

You can send:

• a text message
• a pointer to one of your public lanterns, together with some text
• a pointer to one of your public lists of lanterns, together with some text

Who can you message?

You can message anyone on Lanterns.app. However:

• If you send a message to someone who doesn’t follow you, it will appear as a message request in their inbox.
• If someone accepts your message request, your future messages will go directly to their inbox.
• You cannot message someone that you have blocked.

Why can't I send messages on some chat groups?

If you've sent a chat request to someone, you will not be able to send any further messages until such time that the recipient of the request accepts your request.
